Whitleypedia’s founder and principal is Jared Whitley, a seasoned communications professional with almost 20 years of experience in journalism and politics. He has
worked in the US Senate, in the White House under President George W. Bush, on a variety of political campaigns, in the defense industry, and for several media outlets. He has lived in
Washington, DC, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.
An award-winning writer, Jared has won myriad honors in regional contests hosted by the Society of Professional Journalists, Top of the Rockies, and the Best of the West, which awarded him best columnist of the year in 2016. In 2018, the SPJ named his the best overall blog in the state of Utah.
Jared’s works have appeared in The Weekly Standard, The Daily Caller, The Hill, Cracked, Investor’s Business Daily, Morning Consult, the Deseret News, Utah Policy, and others.
He has degrees in English and German (with minors in business and chemistry) from the University of Utah, graduate certificates in digital marketing and social media from Georgetown University, and an MBA from Hult Business School in Dubai.
